Catch up with J. Kenner…

If I had to go back in time and choose another career…

Broadway musical performer (assuming going back in time lets me pick up both coordination and voice skills…if not, travel photographer.)

My dream holiday destination…

Some place with an incredible beach, a 5 star hotel, and both room and pool/ocean-side drink service!

If I were to be stranded on a desert island, my one luxury item would be…

An ebook reader with a solar powered battery and several thousand books already downloaded.

My most memorable meal…

Sadly, it’s for being a bad meal. A VERY high-end NYC restaurant with a celebrity chef name attached. My husband, daughters, and my best friend (author Dee Davis) and her husband went for my anniversary. Food was horrible. The best was the palate cleanser amuse bouche between courses and the cheese plate at the end. But the rest was just either bland or truly awful (we all thought so). And the price tag was insane. But we had a great time anyway, and still joke about the horrible, horrible meal.

The last song I listened to…

Oh, I just turned off Spotify before answering these! ‘Sippy Cup’ by Melanie Martinez.

The book I’ve read the most times…

Hard to say! Probably Naked in Death by J. D. Robb.

The item I have more of than anything else…

Books!

The last thing I saw at the cinema…

Creed. (Used to go all the time…now, not so much.)

The thing I could never give up…

My husband and kids, but that’s not a “thing.” Honestly, can’t think of anything that, if the circumstances were right, I absolutely couldn’t give up.

Oh, wait! My glasses, LOL! So blind without them!

My choice of superpower…

Magic powers a la Willow in Buffy, but without the whole channelling evil component.

The book (by another author) that I wish I had written…

Gosh, I don’t really wish that. LOVE lots of books by other authors, but love reading them and being surprised by them.

If I could pick any actor/actress to play my latest lead character…

Aaaaaah! Can’t do it! The characters are the characters! I’ll have to defer to the readers!

The best play I’ve seen…

Oh, that is really hard. Do musicals count? I absolutely loved Fun Home.  Blew me away on so many levels. For a play-play, I’m going to go with The Mousetrap. Had such a blast with the family.

The one piece of advice I would give my teenage self…

Take your time in college and enjoy it; don’t do the graduate in 2.5 years thing.

If I had to choose between saying everything I think or never speaking again…

Saying everything I think.

When I was 5 years old I wanted to be…

A writer.

The comedian who makes me laugh the most…

Can’t think of a particular comedian, but I LOVE the “Everything is Amazing And Nobody Is Happy” routine by Louis CK.

My favourite city in the world…

Manhattan.

If I had to eat the same meal for dinner every day for the rest of my life…

Filet mignon, roasted brussel sprouts, baked potato, red wine.

If I could play the starring role in any film…

I would turn it down and ask to be a producer instead.

If I want to relax…

Curl up with a good book (or binge on Buffy).

The person I call when I need cheering up…

Nobody. L  I’m bad about not calling folks when I need cheering up. Instead I watch sappy romantic comedies.

If I could go back to any time in history…

To stay? I’d say no.

To visit? Maybe the Renaissance.

If I had to re-build my house with either gingerbread or chocolate…

LOL! Um, no thank you. That sounds very hard to heat, cool, and keep clean!

My favourite cookbook…

The 3 ring binder my mom gave me for my college graduation!

The best invention ever…

The internet.

The sportsperson I find most inspiring…

Um.

???

That’s pretty much the extent of my sports knowledge…though I do find that sports in general is very inspirational; just the wherewithal to push yourself to the limits like that. And I love sports movies because of that. Just can’t think of a specific person…
