Q&A with Rebecca Zanetti…

If I had to go back in time and choose another career…

I’d probably choose a career I haven’t tried as of yet. I’ve worked as an art curator, a Senate aide, a hearing examiner, a college professor, and a lawyer. So I guess I’d like to study physics or string theory next. Maybe work for NASA?

The last song I listed to was…

‘Riser’ from Dierks Bentley. I love the lyrics and think it works well for a romance, even though the video doesn’t have anything to do with romance. That’s why I rarely watch music videos, to be honest. Though that’s a good one, and I love the theme of it, to me, the song is romantic.

My guilty pleasure is…

Netflix. Once I’ve finished writing a book, I go watch an entire season of a show. While I tell myself that I’m studying plot, arcs, and characterization…I’m really just relaxing and having fun doing nothing.

The item I have more of than anything else would be…

Shoes. I love shoes, and with my schedule of traveling for book signings, there are so many good stores! I especially have a penchant for sparkly shoes.

My choice of a superpower would be…

To heal people with a touch. To take away an injury or a disease would be such an awesome ability. I want that.

The best play I’ve seen was…

Les Miserables in London when I was just nineteen. The female lead was sick, and the understudy had the most amazing voice I’ve ever heard in my entire life. It really was a joy to listen to her, regardless of the play

The one piece of advice I would give my teenage self is…

You’ve got this.

If I had to choose between saying everything I think or never speaking again…

I’d probably say what I think. I can usually see both sides of an issue (must be the Scorpius with Aquarius rising issue), so I think that would be an okay way to live.

When I was 5 years old, I wanted to be…

A doctor. But as it turns out, I faint at the sight of blood and really don’t like touching other people or bodily fluids, so that didn’t pan out.

The comedian who makes me laugh the most would probably be…

Amy Poehler or Tina Fey. I think they’re funny because they’re genuine, laugh at themselves, and are pretty much awesome all the way around.

My favorite city in the world…

Besides my hometown, would be Edinburgh. I had a signing there last summer, and I could see a castle out of my hotel window! I loved it.

If I had to eat the same meal for dinner every day for the rest of my life…

I would so eat macaroni and cheese.  I love it. It’s terrible, and I just love it.

If I could play the starring role in any film…

I’d want to play Scarlet O’Hara in Gone with the Wind. Just having access to the wardrobe would be fun, and hey, Rhett is something to enjoy.

The person I call when I need cheering up is…

My husband, Tony. He’s hilarious and often sees humor in issues I don’t until he points it out. He’s definitely my go-to guy.

If I had to rebuild my house with either gingerbread or chocolate…

I’d definitely choose gingerbread.  For one, chocolate would totally melt too fast. For the other…I’d eat all the chocolate and end up homeless.
