Guilty pleasures with Jen McLaughlin…

What inspired your sensational Sons of Steel Row series?

I pulled a little bit from every antihero on TV I love watching. So in each antihero in the Sons of Steel Row series, there’s a little bit of Damon Salvatore, Oliver Queen, and Jax Teller.

Bad boys or clean-cut heroes?

Bad boys in books, clean-cut heroes in real life!

Your guilty pleasure?

Chocolate and coffee. I need them every day, or I will not survive. Seriously. I think I would die.

Your childhood crush?

All of the Backstreet Boys and John Travolta in his Grease days.

The authors who made you a reader?

Johanna Lindsey and Jude Deveraux.

The most attractive quality or feature in a hero?

Honesty. It’s a rare find nowadays, but one of the most important ones.

The last book you read?

Does my own count? If so, Catching the Player by Diane Alberts, out soon. LOL.

The hottest accent?

English! I love it, especially on Benedict Cumberbatch.

Must love cats, or dogs?

Cats. I have five!

The best thing a reader has ever done?

Emailed me, and thanked me for expressing their voice that they never could.

Your dream dinner party guests?

Benedict Cumberbatch. LOL. Oh, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

DARE TO LIE, the third novel in Jen McLaughlin’s Sons of Steel Row series, is out 7th February!
