Get to know Rhyannon Byrd…

Have you always wanted to be a writer?

Writing is something that I always wanted to do – and I even majored in Literature and Writing at university – but I don’t think I ever had that ‘OMG, I have to be a romance writer’ moment until I started reading Anne Rice in my early twenties. I fell in love with her paranormal and erotic works, and could lose myself in them for days on end. It was like I had discovered this entirely new world that was not only mesmerizing and beautiful, but also completely addictive, and from that point on I was hooked.

Do you have the most fun creating your heroes or your heroines?

Definitely my heroes! Sexy alpha males are my weakness.

Do you have a favourite hero or heroine from your books or by any other author?

Cash Boudreaux from Sandra Brown’s SLOW HEAT IN HEAVEN will always be one of my all-time favourite heroes. But Jane Austen’s Mr. Darcy is a close second. 😉

Who are the authors you read for pleasure?

Shannon McKenna, Kresley Cole, Linda Howard, Karen Marie Moning, Shayla Black, Sylvia Day…and too many others to name.

If you could take only three essentials with you to a desert island what would they be?

Mexican food, my laptop, and my family. Though my family would probably be pretty pissed that I’d dragged them off to a desert island!

Who would be on your dream dinner party guest list?

Jack Kerouac, Eddie Vedder, Tori Amos, Peyton Manning, Gerard Butler, and my father-in-law, who I never had the chance to meet but know I would have loved.

What are your guilty pleasures?

Ant & Dec, Disney movies and SpongeBob cartoons.
